Kieran Valde is a visual artist and painter from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since 2018, Kieran has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions at various galleries in Winnipeg. His most recent solo exhibition, Painting Interrupted, took place in February, 2022, at La Maison des artistes visuels francophones. His work can be found in private collections across North America and Europe.

“My paintings are ironic reproductions of canonical paintings from art history. Creating these paintings is a way for me to connect with the history and craft of image making. My process of transforming paintings, historically intended to achieve a sense of awe, is partly satirical but also reverential. By studying their technique and then deviating from the reference, my work is my attempt at conversing with their power.”
