“This compilation, recorded within the month of January, 2020, spins together three threads of inspiration. First, She Shreds Magazine, the world’s only print publication dedicated to women guitarists and bassists, which each January hosts a ‘Riff A Day’ challenge. Participants are invited to riff everyday and post their progress. In doing so, I have accumulated an abundance of sketches, ideas, or moments of sound on my desktop. The second thread is Tierra Whack’s album of 1-minute tracks, Whack World, one of my favourite albums of 2019. Third is Outfit For Making Toast, an elaborate costume on display at an art show in a vacant house I went to years ago. I have never forgotten this piece: the idea of creating a moment out of a mundane task.”
