“Foshan’s Trip comes from my visit to the exhibition Beyond: Tadao Ando and Art at the He Museum of Art in Foshan: listening to the audioguide narrator, surrounded by so many people who came to visit Ando’s exhibition, I was inspired to make this piece.”
“Strange Visitors was inspired by my visit to The National Gallery when in London for the first time: I took a picture of a very famous classical oil painting and two gallery two visitors, and I combined it with a self-portrait captured near Westminster in hopes of evoking the feelings of a good memory, especially that of an international student.”
“Alone was inspired by one of my students, Chutian Lin, working alone in my studio with a small moon outside that night. It reminded me of creating illustrations for my finals project, alone during lockdown in the UK. That was a tough time, but this was a beautiful moment to capture.”
