Libby Sipe
Working primarily in oil and acrylic paints, Libby Sipe (she/her) explores a world of dreamlike reality through playful colors and shifting layers of deep emotion within her brushstrokes. Libby applies a multitude of painterly techniques to capture the essence of a surreal world where dreams and reality coexist.
“It’s Fine was inspired by an engraving of a painting of the Lady Elizabeth Compton. The engraving, by J.R. Smith in the late 1700s, is based on an original painting by Joshua Reynolds in 1781.”
“Melting was inspired by Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring (1665).”
